Despite the fluid nature of Kiyoshi’s work, which is created with clay and glaze, these objects are grounded by a discipline cultivated from a philosophy of labor and ethics. Skill, technique, and patience have always been a predominant feature in his work.
The artist’s objective isn’t to thwart his peers in order to shock his audience; Kiyoshi’s works accomplish an iconoclastic perspective still within respect to craft and skill.
